What Is a Rising Sign?
Your rising sign, or ascendant, is the sign on the eastern horizon at the moment of your birth. It describes your outward style, first impressions and the lens through which you approach life — the 'front door' of your personality. It also sets the starting point of your twelve houses.
Why You Need an Exact Birth Time
The ascendant changes sign about every two hours, and even faster at some latitudes. Check your birth certificate or hospital records for the most accurate time. If your rising sign is in the first or last degree of a sign, a small time error could change it.
