What Is Black Moon Lilith?

Black Moon Lilith is the lunar apogee: the point where the Moon is farthest from Earth in its orbit. It isn't a physical body. Named after the figure of Jewish folklore who refused to be subordinate, Lilith in the chart represents raw instinct, desire, anger, taboo and the parts of ourselves we were taught to suppress.

Mean vs True Lilith

Like the lunar nodes, Lilith has a smoothed 'mean' position and a wobbling 'true' (osculating) position that can differ by many degrees. Most astrologers use mean Lilith, which takes about nine months to move through each sign.
